Its diet consists of flying insects, large insects, other spiders, scorpions, centipedes, small frogs, and reptiles. When they are ready to hunt, they go out at night and run after their prey. They capture their prey with their large fangs. Tarantulas inject an enzyme called chitinase into their prey, breaking down the insect. Then, they drink the liquid that contains chitin. If you put a tarantula in a bottle, you might be able to catch it.
